Shabbat Shalom!

This Challah platter with 23 karat gold Hebrew letters is a great Jewish wedding Gift.

What a fantastic gift for a couple! I know you will love my Challah platter!

The clear glass shards on each side make this piece a unique one and brings more beauty to the embellishment of the tray.

Detailed with Hebrew letters spelling “Shabbat Shalom” on the piece.

It is a modern addition to your Shabbat table.

Hebrew reads : Shabbat Shalom and it is originally in Jewish usage to greet or express goodwill towards a Jewish person on Shabbat (day to commemorate that G’d rested from creating the world. The word Shabbat literally means “He rested”.

Approximately: 15 x 8 inches

A kiln is used to make the glass molten and to join two or more pieces of glass. The glasses inside the kiln arrive to a temperature of about 1450 Fahrenheit. As glass heats up, it expands and when it cools down it contracts. The pace at which it expands can be measured. Distinct glass expands and contracts at various rates. When glass is heated, it softens and if more heat is applied, it begins to melt and flow. When heated further, they will melt together, flatten out, and become one solid piece of glass.

Once the first firing called full fused is finished I remove the fused piece, have a look at it and if I'm happy with it I then positioned the new strong piece of glass on top of a curvy mold and placed back into the kiln and heated up to where they slump into the prepared shape. Generally this movement occurs around 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. Lots of work behind each piece, right?
