This is a custom commission with a two-step process. After purchase, you will receive instructions to ship your chuppah glass shards to my Toronto studio. I begin handcrafting your piece only once your materials arrive. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks from the date your shards reach me.
This Custom Wedding Mezuzah is a beautiful way to preserve the memories of your special day. For this design, I carefully assemble your Chuppah glass shards, interspersing them with clear glass pieces. This technique is perfect for shards that are opaque or less translucent, as the clear glass enhances the colors and creates a harmonious, layered effect.
The interspersed clear glass not only adds dimension but also ensures a stunning design, even when the shards themselves do not let light pass through.
This mezuzah case can be created using most types of glass. However, the coloring or paint on the glass needs to be thick enough to withstand the high temperatures during the firing process, as thinner coatings may burn away. Many of my clients don’t mind if the color burns away because the mezuzah becomes a tribute to the memory of the wedding moment—the smashing of the glass. However, if you prefer to preserve the original color of the shards, you can choose the Wedding Resin Mezuzah option, which embeds the shards in resin, showcasing their original hues beautifully.
