When I received this request, I knew it was something truly special. A family unearthed these ceramic shards during an archaeological dig at Tel Maresha in Beit Guvrin, Israel, uncovering treasures from the time of the Maccabees. They wanted these ancient pieces to live on in a meaningful way.
I embedded the shards into resin to create this menorah, honoring both their family’s incredible experience and the rich history behind the pottery. My hands, my eyes, my soul, and my heart are full of gratitude and wonder for the opportunity to craft this piece.
